[BUG] Cannot craft normal minecraft chest about craft-to-exile-dissonance HOT 3 CLOSED

Put the wood-specific chest back in the crafting grid and you will get a normal chest item.

Because it seems that no one else can read what the OP Posted or don't understand I will explain the issue here.

I have the same issue. Quark removes the default chest recipe from the game and replaces it with quark:oak_chest

Because the item minecraft:chest is not craftable you can not advance any buildings because you can not craft the default chest.

The way I fixed this is I used CraftTweaker for 1.16.5 and I used the the script is simply

craftingTable.addShapeless("quarkchestfix", <item:minecraft:chest>, [<tag:items:quark:boatable_chests>]);

This will allow you to place any quark chest back into the any crafting square and it will turn it back into a minecraft:chest that you can use to complete your buildings :)
