Could you add a permissive OSS licence to the repo?

I've made it no secret that I think RPi erred with picoprobe and its custom protocol. RPi would have kept its developers more focused on productive efforts and had a better solution (compatible with 3rd party tools) to boot if they had simply done what I did with DapperMime.

Regarding your request, have you looked at the DapperMime README? The "permissive OSS license" that you ask for is already clearly spelled out there. If all you are asking for is an extra text file, then why not say that? In your request, you make it sound like there is not already a "permissive OSS license" when there is.

The whole premise to DapperMime is to not re-invent the wheel and to leverage existing OSS work, namely ARM's CMSIS_5 work (Apache 2.0 license) and TinyUSB (MIT license). (The "Mime" in the name is just that: repeating the motions of others. "Dapper" is a play on DAP, namely ARM's "Debug Access Port".) Do you have an issue with these particular OSS licenses? If you do, you'll really need to take it up with the authors of those works, as I can't offer those works under different licenses.

My request is specific to the files that are unique to this repository. The "Licence" section of readme.md does not explicitly refer to these files. While most have boilerplate headers, some do not. I'd like a clarification on these - whether through adding a separate file describing their licence or a confirmation of such in this issue.

I'm loath to add a LICENSE file, since that approach seems to assume one license term (which is not the case).
