So, I think I migrated succesfully from PHP 5.x to PHP 7. I removed all instances of the old mysql-API and replaced it with the new mysqli.
Currently, all changes are still in the branch migrate_php7. Before I merge it into master, is there anyone willing to test-run it against a PHP7 environment? How about @connectafrique ? @chrsndl ? @Slaze ? @lecnush ? Thank a lot, guys!

looks like it is requesting that useraccountnameonsystem@localhost be used for the authentication instead of the mysql credentials supplied.

@connectafrique : I'm not sure if I understood you correctly. You mean mangoO was asking for the username you use on your local machine instead of the default credentials "admin" and "password"? If this is what you mean, than that would be so strange. I don't get this problem at all.
What exactly did you do? Did you use the automated setup procedure? If so, which database did you choose? Fresh or Test?
When using the "fresh" database, the setup process will ask you to create a first user account with administrator privileges. The "test" database has one already (default credentials "admin" and "password").
Which system are you using for testing? And which server environment? Linux with Apache and MySQL?
