Thanks @ramigb definitely we want to have these. We're aware the platform could be abused. The platform is still in early alpha. We'll be adding these capabilities as we move forward with the project.

We also accept contributions from the community and happy to receive any pull requests around reporting abuses.

While Manshar is at a really early stage, we should look at implementing a mechanism for people to report issues and abuses from within the platform.

I see this issue is a personal issue from @ramigb and we should consider it as a starting point of implementing such feature.

@mkhatib I think what @ramigb is reporting is a valid issue. I suggest to take the photo down, or ask the author to change it.

@amrnt unfortunately I have no law background and Manshar didn't even draft terms of usage yet, this should probably be worked on as fast as possible. I find this case as a gray area and not a clear cut. I wouldn't be too hasty to act on it as much as deleting a user posting. I think currently the user who posted it would be responsible for all the content they post.

Of course as a community Manshar also have the right to act on clear unacceptable content (which a TOS should clear out) like porn, violent threats and the like.

Unfortunately we don't have the resources to look into this any further and I would advice @ramigb to try his best to get the author of the post to change the photo if it is private. That's all I really can advice for. Until we have a more elaborate system to handle these cases. But I don't see an easy and clear answer to this.

@mkhatib , @ramigb here's something to read:

Can someone take a photo/video of me and post it online without my permission?

Ultimately the answer depends on who is taking the photo/video, where is it being taken, and for what purpose is the photo/video being used.

There are no laws that stop someone taking your photo/video in a public place and then posting it online.
There are no laws that stop someone posting photos/ videos of you taken from a public location, even when you are on private property. So someone can post a photo of you in your home or garden as long as it was taken from the public footpath. Similarly, there are no laws that stop people posting photos of you taken from property they have permission to be on (such as their private property), even when you are on private property.
There are laws that prevent people entering privately owned property without permission. This means that the owner of private property can take legal action to punish people taking photos/ videos after entering their property without permission, and in some cases may be able to stop the person using or posting the photos/ videos taken.
There are some places where permission is needed before any photos/ videos can be taken. These places include museums, galleries, sporting arenas and airports.
If a large business takes a photo/video of you for a commercial purpose (like an advertisement) and you are identifiable in the photo/video they must get your permission to use or post the image online.

From Facebook Privacy Policy:

Photos of a Public Event
If you post pictures from a concert, fair, flash mob or any public gathering, you can post those photos without the specific permission of the people you captured on camera. There are some obvious exceptions. You can't post photos taken when there was an expectation of privacy such as a public restroom, courtroom or hospital.

This would take out the personal judgement "if there's any" from the discussion. Also, I'll consult a friend lawyer about such cases, interesting to know, and good to clarify for everybody.

@ramigb sorry if you got me wrong, i'm trying to be logical and professional with my comment for the benefit of all community. I stated what's the "internet" law, and I want all to think of it as "what if this post was on Blogspot?". Assume that @mkhatib removed it from Manshar, and Nedal posted it again on Blogspot, what will your next action be? I'm not defending Manshar, but what Khatib said was true about the grey area. You want to solve this issue? start digging for a real solution for the root problem so you can stop it. Of course, if it was my photo I'd be annoyed and will try my best to take it down, that's why I encourage you to seek and find solutions for this problem.

With respect,
