Interesting! I've always had mixed feelings about that form and whether all clients will/should accept it. Feels like maybe this should be more in the space of 'click on a feature on the map and get its geojson only', either in a popup or a clear mode of the editor on the right?

I agree with the inline raw view. Click 'raw' on pop-up and it turns into a text area with syntax highlighting (or not).

4204c38 added read support for single geometry (not wrapped in FeatureCollection) GeoJSON files, shouldn't be too difficult to add write functionality now, although not certain if that's desirable @tmcw

Closing: this is something you can do by copy & pasting the geom from the text field on the right side. There are ways we might optimize this (scrolling to the feature in question) but these all require a much more GeoJSON'y Leaflet API that isn't going to happen any time soon.
