It does work with PyYAML 3.10, but your installation seems to be broken. The C implementation of the parser doesn't work, but the Python version should be fine.
I've committed a fallback to the Python version for this kind of error in c0520be

It works now with version 3.10, thanks. Maybe you could add debug message about not working C implementation? Now it fall backs silently.
Maybe you know how to fix C implementation?
