Ok, I have fixed this. But even though I can get to http://localhost/api-docs/companies (companies being the REST object) I don't get any documentation.
The default URL seems bothersome as well: http://localhost:8000/api-docs/api-docs/
What am I missing here?

Yes, I'm going to update the docs re: the base URL. You can set the base URL to whatever you want - the /api-docs/ route following that base is the auto-generated JSON resources for swagger.
Sorry for this confusion.
As for not getting any documentation for your view, it is difficult to identify what is happening without more information.
The issue you raised regarding the ImportError seems symptomatic of not having the package installed or it not being in your PYTHONPATH.
