@flexiondotorg that is a different thing if I understand the OP. That one is for keyboard backlight on eg laptops. This one is for the screen.
@weltall Can you post the complete contents of /sys/class/backlight. Also can you try a42de88 and see if that solves the issue.

from the looks of it since i made the bug report it works now, even though I've tested an older version and it works there too now, so might be a kernel update changed things.
