I think I fixed it. There was a var statement before the import on these files. Please try again.

hi, the same problem, i started a empty brunch project, and install latest vue-tables-2 from from git and
throw the same error:

$ brunch new proj -s es6
$ cd ./proj
$ npm install https://github.com/matfish2/vue-tables-2.git

update initialize.js

var VueTables = require( "vue-tables-2");

document.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded', () => {
  // do your setup here
  console.log('Initialized app');
});

and build

$ brunch build
21 Dec 16:58:41 - error: Processing of node_modules/vue-tables-2/lib/v-client-table.js failed. 'import' and 'export' may only appear at the top level (5:4) 
21 Dec 16:58:41 - error: Processing of node_modules/vue-tables-2/lib/v-server-table.js failed. 'import' and 'export' may only appear at the top level (5:4) 
21 Dec 16:58:41 - info: compiled 2 files into 2 files, copied index.html in 2.4 sec
