I guess you’re saying the &=e.g.+hunter2 part messes things up? What kind of system are you on?

I had a similar problem. My password field was submitted by its ID. The replacement input had the id, but the real input field did not. I 'fixed' this by editing the lines below. On non HTML5 friendly browsers these inputs have two identical IDs, but at least the form works now.

$input = $input.removeAttr('id').hide().prev().attr('id', id).show();

to this:

$input = $input.hide().prev().attr('id', id).show();

UPDATE: The most recent version 1.8.7 broke another form on the same page. I tried version 1.7 and everything seems to be working by default, without my modifications above.
