How did you fix up the require() issues?

Looks like this repository is not fit for running with recent versions of node.JS. I believe one potential solution is using an older version of node. Not sure which versions; might have to try different ones, but the fact that the package.json points to node-sass version as 5.0 might be a lead. Can use the version compatibility between node-sass and node.JS runtime on the npm page for node-sass.
You could probably use a node version switcher like NVM, or a more generic one like asdf.
I am running node v18 so I'll try to see other ways to fix it and report back
from resume.

I was able to run this with node v18 after changing the node-sass version. See PR here: #50
