- Which version of node and npm are you using?
- Are you installing this package via
npm install @maxmind/geoip2-node
, or are you cloning the repo into your project? If the latter, please install usingnpm install @maxmind/geoip2-node
becausepinst
renames thepostinstall
script to_postinstall
from geoip2-node.
I'm using node 15.8.0 and npm 7.5.4.
I have @maxmind/geoip2-node as dependency in my own project (nodejs service), running npm install when checking out my project works fine.
The issue occurs when trying to build the docker image, which copies the package.json file of my project and run npm install --production
to install only runtime dependencies. When reverting to version 2.1.1 which doesn't contain that script things work smoothly.
from geoip2-node.
I'm having trouble recreating this issue. I ran npm install --production
in my test project, and postinstall
got renamed to _postinstall
in the @maxmind/geoip2-node package.json file. Can you copy and paste the contents of node_modules/@maxmind/geoip2-node/package.json
from your docker image?
from geoip2-node.
I have a similar issue.. runnning
npm install @maxmind/geoip2-node

@lmdc45 What are the contents of node_modules/@maxmind/geoip2-node/package.json

Ah I see. Can you post the contents of your project's package.json?
from geoip2-node.
I use a verdaccio registry in order to cache package, when using
npm i @maxmind/geoip2-node --registry=https://registry.npmjs.org
it works ok!
Not sure why it is not ok through verdaccio as it should just act as a proxy
from geoip2-node.
I see. I don't have much experience with verdaccio, but I am curious if it is caching the Github version of the package (which would be incorrect). Can you download the package from verdaccio and post the package.json file?
from geoip2-node.
I cannot see the package on verdaccio for some reason (part of trying to resolve the issue was to delete the cache), but seems there is one package.json for all versions which includes:
