Looking back on the master requirements.txt file, I see that Django==2.0.2, so this might not even be an issue if built directly from this repo. I started everything from scratch rather than cloning the repo, so most of my packages are newer than listed.

I've updated this example (and docs) all the way. As you say, that is the new error for this case. I fixed it as you suggested. Thanks very much @sbhaseen !
