Current AAR in use is 0.4.2 @ 23.5MB https://medic.github.io/crosswalk-build/maven/org/medicmobile/crosswalk/xwalk_core_library/0.4.2/xwalk_core_library-0.4.2.aar
Oldest AAR in git repo is 0.1.0 @ 35.5MB https://github.com/medic/chromium-crosswalk/blob/gh-pages/maven/org/medicmobile/crosswalk/xwalk_core_library/0.1.0/xwalk_core_library-0.1.0.aar
It doesn't look like it's the AAR's fault.

When the debug APK is built locally, size is < 26MB.

Debug builds of 0.1.177 on AWS are 23.5MB.

Looks like the build went from 40-something to 20-something MB between 0.1.175 and 0.1.176. The change between those two versions was changing from xwalk_core_library 0.4.0 to 0.4.1. There is nothing obviously different in the build configuration between these two versions, but the AAR binaries uploaded to maven are 20MB different in size. It seems likely that somehow a debug AAR was uploaded by mistake, but recent versions of the AAR and medic-android are not affected.
