We should evaluate https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Notifications_API/Using_the_Notifications_API for this feature; it may be possible to achieve notifications with little to no custom code in the container.

A project is now using SMS to act as push notifications, so would be worth discussing the priority of this feature and scheduling accordingly (if at all).
So far this feature hasn't been prioritized since CHW workflows generally include opening their apps weekly or daily -- in which case they'd see their tasks. If projects are using SMS as a workaround it may be since that is not always the case or no longer sufficient. Aside from the tasks use case, this feature could also facilitate messaging between users since they'd want to be notified of the message even if their app is closed.
