Just make sure that your foo project is recognized as a package under node terms.

Folder is considered to be a root of a package, when either:

  • it contains package.json file (content is irrelevant)
  • or it contains node_modules folder
  • or it's placed within node_modules folder

If file you require (or initialize bundle with) is not placed within root folder of a package, then Webmake assumes it's placed in one of subdirectories of a package, and searches all the way up for package root. If it's not found, system root is assumed as package root, and then you have that inconvenient full paths.
