Hello, I'm Mel (She/Her). Welcome! Currently, I work as a Machine Learning Engineer in the Technology and Innovation department at Weni, where I integrate, train and evaluate artificial intelligence models using Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques with a focus on LLMs.

My work mainly involves Python programming applied in machine learning and deep learning, focusing on Natural Language Generation (NLG) and Natural Language Understanding (NLU). My experience includes enhancing the communication of intelligent agents (Chatbots). Tasks that are usually part of my routine include: creating experiments for models, searching and tuning hyperparameters for training, performance evaluation, verifying inference and latency in model responses, artifact manipulation, model quantization, and researching/reading articles to stay updated in the field. The skills I'm learning vary according to each model development phase: creating APIs, Docker image builds, code versioning and structuring, using machine learning frameworks like PyTorch, and documenting processes.

I have experience as a project tutor and learning facilitator in the Data Science and Machine Learning course at Tera. I assisted students in structuring workflows in classes and project creation, as well as providing support. I am a technology student, currently studying Systems Analysis and Development at FATEC, and a bachelor's degree holder in Philosophy from UFOP.

I'm a fan of horror movies and books, as well as detective and investigative fiction. I love playing games, and one of my favorite genres is RPG. My all-time favorite games are Stardew Valley, Baldur's Gate, Animal Crossing, and Monster Hunter.

I support and encourage women in technology organizations and I have the honor of participating in two amazing communities of women in the field: women in artificial intelligence community (MIA - Mulheres em IA) and Brazilian Women in Text Processing (BPLN- Brasileiras em PLN).
