What was the purpose of this fork? about commons-beanutils2 HOT 3 CLOSED

YES. It has been 5+ years since BeanUtils 1.9.4 was released. My company needed the following:

1. security issues addressed
2. Bugs fixed and Optimized code patches see the whole "ConcurrentFastHashMap" dicussion on the main project PR's.
3. Update to Commons Collections V4 so we could get rid of our last reference to Commons Collection 3 which BeanUtils 1.9.4 was still using.

I had no choice but to fork and release to Maven Central until BeanUtils finally does a 2.0.0 release.

It looks like @garydgregory has been making a LOT of changes recently, even today in commons-beanutils and all the other commons projects. Do you know if they are about to release 2.0.0? I see you are a committer on that project is the only reason I ask. Thanks for the information.

If you look over the history and on the mailing lists I have been asking for over 3 years for a release. I finally gave up and thus this fork. Gary definitely makes commits and merges PRs but no release in sight.
