Closing, since android is not a supported platform. Maybe in the future!
from mangal.
That's very weird. Unfortunately, I don't have access to any android right not, but I'll see if I can setup an emulator
from mangal.
I tested it on emulators with Android 8 and 10 as well as on another phone running Android 9 with the same results. I also looked into the logcat to see if there are any errors showing up while running Mangal but there aren't any. I doubt that this will help, but this is all I found:

I'm starting to think that it might be a problem with Termux and not with Mangal.
It would be great if Mangal worked on Termux because the smartphone screen aspect ratio is perfect for reading manga. I know that one could just go straight to the source that Mangal gets manga from, but Mangal is way more convenient.

Thanks for the logs, I'll look into them! I think you're right that it has something to do with Termux itself. Looks like It can't get access to the internet for some reason. I had some troubles installing suitable android emulator because m1 macs has some troubles with it so I don't think I'll be able to test it soon, I'll try tho. But keep in mind that android support is not planned (now), so even if this will be fixed I don't know what else could appear.
