You're projects pattern should be what comes after your "src" path

So are you suggesting that I put the src property above the plugins property in my gruntfile? Does that even have an effect?

You want me to set the src attr to "_site_src/content/projects/*.html" ?
But that's the attribute that metalsmith uses to know where to look for files to grab and pass to the plugins. I have other files inside content/ that I want metalsmith to grab too.
Sorry, I'm confused.

No, just as I had it. I accidentally deleted my post, but this is how you should set it:
src: "_site_src/content",
pattern: "projects/*.html"

Weird, It's working now, but I thought I tried that before... maybe I had my plugins executing in the wrong order. Thanks though!
