Found out it's because the go-imap library is sending the capability statement unsolicited after upgrade to TLS. It should only send the capability statement on request (also k9 should handle this better but eh.)

Fixed in go-imap, Raised a pull request emersion/go-imap#285. Build temporarily depends on my fork of go-imap so the bug is fixed now. I should revert back to the library version once the PR is merged & released.
