I like that the top blue part reminds me of a robot head. That's cool. Maybe making the yellow part green would make it look more like a circuit board?
I'm not 100% convinced... The current logo is a bit big and bulky, but really shouts "Micro Python" since it's a Python on a microchip :)

I'm not 100% convinced, either!
Making it green was a good idea.

but the current one is nice and fluffy :-P and also reminds me to the one
of PyMite, that having similar purposses makes a good mental link :-)
The proposed one would be good to have it in the future if the number of
platforms increases a lot (so the "Python on a microchip" concept would
vanish in benefict of "Python in barenaked hardware") or if someone shows
interest on deploy MicroPython on comercial products.
My two cents :-)

Green does look better.
I wonder, how would it look printed in white outline on a green PCB? For the logo on the PCB I was going to use the original "snake-on-chip", but just its outlined version, as in micropython/logo/vector-logo.svg

I'm not 100% convinced either. It's clear that it has roots in the regular python logo from the originally chosen colors and the snake shape on the top. The green/white is a good idea but maybe have a darker green on top and a lighter green on bottom would be better. Also matching the top snake shape with the bottom would make it much clearer that it's a variant of the python logo, whereas the rectangular shape currently doesn't make that clear. Also the logo itself does not show the u shaped pinout that the board uses, which has already been discussed about the reference to micro.
I think the logo Damien originally made really hit the nail on the head as a great logo. I think this alternate holds promise but needs refined more. I think this would work well if placed to the left of the micro python vector text.

If I where to make a stylized offspin python style logo, yeah, start with maybe sampled board colors and get a bit intricate with the line textures as to replicate a microboard with one half, then reference maybe Damiens snake a bit in the other half as an artistic type of graphic, maybe suitable for the website. Tho I wouldn't recommend something with that as a logo for the board as it would tend to get lost amongst the real lines that will be running everywhere.
I like damiens original for the board design, and as I said before every project needs a mascot always better a python. Kids lov em.
Maybe something like this, just as user art could be used on the site I guess if someone wanted a link banner or something. My take on the "python deriv anyway". Freebee for the project. micropython license or whatever. :)

Suggestion is to move content of this ticket into a wiki, where interested users can more easily find it, and because we can't keep this ticket open forever. Thanks.
