Yes, those files are generated from schemas.
Did you try the MacOSX release? That should be easier.
I'm working on improving the MacOSX build instructions. In the meanwhile you can use this script for guidance: https://github.com/Microsoft/malmo/blob/master/.travis/ci_macosx.sh
