I'm not convinced we need OpenApiAny longer term. So I definitely don't want to start using OpenApiAny for regular model properties that have a natural C# type.

I'd prefer that as well. I don't see many benefits (apart from a minor one I mentioned above) of using OpenApiAny at the moment.

Based on the work done around extensions, I think OpenApiAny should remain as a simple way to allow folks who want strongly typed extensions to deserialize JSON/YAML via an OpenApiAny dom. I think we can close this issue.

I agree. I don't see a way out of using OpenApiAny. We'll keep it.
