Found the issue: this happens when I run the image on my local machine (MacOS). On Linux and Windows the image contains msopenjdk-17-amd64 in stead of msopenjdk-17-arm64.
The arm variant has no freetype

Looking into this for you @dinilimento. We changed to an updated set of installers for this latest release and are working through the bugs as fast as we can.
Did you experience application failures, or did you simply notice the lack of the library to discover this issue?
To be thorough, we will be running the https://github.com/d3r3kk/force-freetype against our builds going forward to discover this issue in all of our docker images (and some other tests that were missing).

Thanks for your help.
We experienced application failures, but the newer image is working for us. Problems now only occur on my local machine.
