The issue repro'd for me. So I rolled back a couple of recent changes to the script.
Could you try again using the current version of the scripts?

@jodebrui - I tried to run 6-www-data-simulation.sql using the rolled-back version, but still no luck. The stored procedure has been executing for 2 1/2 hours and the last message output is Mon Jan 04, 2016. Previously, I executed the stored procedure for 3 1/2 hours and the last message output was Tue Feb 23, 2016 so the issue still exists.

Curious. The issue does not repro for me, in several different environments.
Let me do some further investigation.

We have made a couple of improvements in the data generation logic. If you deploy the latest version of the sample from source code, the performance should be much improved.
