this code fix is not work , I also have the same issue, here is step:
- Open VS Code and press F1 to open command palette, select IoT Workbench: Examples.
- Press Esc to cancel select a board
- Verify a error will get.

If click ESC, the warning message "provision canceled" displays or directly close the dropdown list, so close the issue
