This should be pretty straightforward these days - just add a manupulate_resource_list method that adds a new resource for the feed whose source_path is a template inside the gem. Probably need to add a bunch of options to make the feed configurable enough.

Definitely. We could do it in raw XML and avoid the builder dep.

When I said "a bunch of options" I was underestimating - there's just a ton of stuff that would need to be passed to make this configurable enough for everybody. Given that, I think generating the template and letting people edit it is simpler than adding 10 new options to the blog plugin.
