• Minimum double the current size or maybe just a small increase if color codes / spaces aren't counted.

• Entirely up to the player server owner if they want it to look nice or not.

What should the limit be? This is also shown as the lore in-game. Should we trim it in game?

Minecraft doesn't have an MOTD length limit, but it is instead cut off by the client once it hits a certain width. I think the current MOTD limit is fine as long as formatting codes don't count towards the limit. The MOTD is already trimmed in-game (at least on Favorite Servers), and I don't think it should be trimmed.

Hm you're right, we could certainly move the limit to something much higher. There is the thought of this being stored in our database so there's always going to be some sort of limit.
