Bad news! The Docker install is also crashing with this error!
I will now try to upgrade from Ubuntu 18 to 20. Hoping this will solve some bad lib version conflicts somewhere.

I just lost between one and two full weeks on this problem, with projects and clients waiting for it.
It's typically what is a so-called critical blocking bug!
If someone could have a look at it and help me, it would be nice.

YESSSSS !!!!
Not sure the following is sufficient, nor exhaustive, but this seems to solve the problem for me:
- upgrading from Ubuntu 18 to 20
- re-installing MMT using the 30XX procedure
The official Docker installation is still not working.
I think the 30XX config should now be validated as the new official release, and a new docker image built with it.
PS: in my new re-install, I used a virtualenv config with Python3.8, and #601
from modernmt.

Is there still someone in the MMT team, with a will to make the tool evolve?
The growing silence, week after week, is disturbing.
