I think one should recommend window users to just install a vagrant lamp stack.

The hardest part - from my brief testing on my ol' PC and helping others - is getting the right php executable, and adding it to the PATH variable. Not too different from the procedure on OS X/Linux, but a slightly bigger hurdle as it's pretty hidden on Windows ;) Most people probably have something like wamp or xampp running already, so just gotta find php.
Adding Vagrant to the mix might only make things more complex.. plus Gitify is a tool you'd end up using across projects, so installing it into each vagrant might be more work?
That said, if you'd like to provide some docs on installing Gitify in vagrant (guessing it's something you would put in the vagrantfile, rather than follow the standard install instructions after booting up the vm?), I would be happy to put that up somewhere :P

Yes that is true. Personally i don't set it up globally on my vagrant machines, so i just pull it down and run it straight off. Still testing it, but as soon as i got my routine set, i could definitely write something!
When it comes to vagrant boxes, ive used scotch when working with modx. So it's easy to set up and it works out of the box. No need to configure anything in your vagrant file.

Some docs here about integration with vagrant would be awesome!
