Hello,

Thanks for trying gvm and helping to make it better. It looks like this was an issue with the way I was using if statements on strings. I've updated the code (30e0fc5) so it should work now. Since you don't have the gvm command yet we can't just gvm get to pull down the fix so you'll have to do one of the following:

cd ~/.gvm && mv git.bak .git && git pull

OR

rm -rf ~/.gvm && bash < <(curl -s https://raw.github.com/moovweb/gvm/master/binscripts/gvm-installer)

After this is done you should be able to restart your shell and run gvm. Let me know if you run into any other issues and I'll be glad to take a look.

Regards,

Josh

This worked a treat!

Thank you for fixing this so quickly.

Btw, I am one of the core devs behind Travis CI (http://travis-ci.org) and I would love to add first class Go support (multiple Go VM installs) and use GVM for this. Would you be interested in helping with this?

We would TOTALLY love it. Right now, our OSS projects are tested and built on a private jenkins server. But, as we have about 5 Go libraries that are open source, we'd much rather have a more public and more versatile (multi-versioned) place to build them and test them.

+1 for Travis support for Go.

Moovweb would definitely like to help.

Btw, you coming for RailsConf this year? I'm speaking!

I will be at RailsConf, and I will be speaking too :)

I know a SoundCloud guy has his OSS Go project building perfectly on Travis. He installs everything on each build, but that is no problem.

If we can get GVM wrapped up into a Chef recipe then we can look at getting it onto Travis, then we can work on a 'builder' for Go so multi Go version selecting is possible.

No problem! As for Travis CI just let me know what you need and I'll be happy to help.

Help with a Chef recipe to install GVM and some predefined versions of Go would be amazing.

You can checkout our cookbooks at travis-ci/travis-cookbooks

Otherwise we can all grab a beer at RailsConf and talk more there. :)

Sounds great I'll see what I can do about packaging this up in Chef. Unfortunately I'll be in Alaska during RailsConf so drink one for me :)
