One more comment, I have discovered this only today. Since Google returns no more than 20 entries in atom feed, using xml.entry.length() will result in reporting no more than 20 unread mails this way. If I have 50 ureads, I will still see only 20 in counter.
I have reported the problem to Google, let's wait.
