I had debated building a provider.request(Identifier).get() that does default parameters, successful status code and toJSON. Which is basically the same each time.

So have request return something that has a get function on it, and delay the execution of the request until it's invoked?

I meant more like a shortcut for the request + .filterSuccessfulStatusCodes().mapJSON()

So the default parameters will be merged with the ones provided by the caller, I think. That way API calls needing parameters only have to manage them once instead of every API call. This calculation should be as part of the target enum, just like the path.

I think Orta's suggestion would make sense if we weren't making HTTP methods part of the API.
