Catalin Suciu has started looking into this. Probably should use http://loads.readthedocs.org / http://loads.services.mozilla.com/

In terms of data patterns: Currently we get either batches of size 1 or size 20 with records. These records will all be about the same / close by locations and the same cell or WiFi access points. The stumbler client might send multiple batches for the same / close by locations in "parallel" and for the same "nickname".

We should test the above in addition to general randomized data from all over the world to test concurrency.

Update on patterns: We should see batches of either 1 or 100 observations at a time. Since we have delayed uploading via wifi-only, it's realistic to see data spikes from one user uploading his entire trip of 10000 observations in one go.

On the search side we also have a constant level of at least 50 search requests per second and should scale to more.
