It does resume where it left off. It just needs to recheck the files before it starts downloading again. So it might look like it's downloading from the start, but it does not. It just reads and checks the files already on disk.

Ahh maybe I'm too impatient, I'll check again rn.
So it continues downloading straight after linking the same torrent file/ magnet link in mpv? Or could you simply open the file and it would continue too?
