This has to do with the lazy loading of devices... tested a few scenarios, but obviously missed one.
Can you attached you configuration (devices.xml and agent.cfg file). I'll check it out and get it fixed.

Fixed in build release v1.3.0.9 and commit 48dcd21.
When the configuration referenced a device that does not exist in the XML and there is only one device in the devices.xml file – the behavior is to ignore the name of the device in the cfg and use the default device. The device name in the cfg is now lazy loaded in case it is given in the input stream of the adapter.
The device name is now defaulted as in the previous version with the name from the default device.
