cannot install essentia on MacOs about homebrew-essentia HOT 7 OPEN

I own a MacBook Air with a 2.2 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7 processor.

I linked ffmpeg 2.8 with brew link --overwrite [email protected]. Afterwards i followed all your steps.
During installation however, i get now the error:

I also get the same, when I uninstall python 3.9 (local interpreter) and use my conda environment.

May I have further support here?

building by source leads to following error:
../src/essentia/utils/audiocontext.cpp:33:3: error: use of undeclared identifier 'av_register_all'

System: macOS Monterey (Version 12.5.1)
Python: Version 3.9 (conda)
Pip: Version 22.1.2

• Downloaded master branch from source
• Changed directory to folder "essentia"
• Ran all the commands given in https://essentia.upf.edu/installing.html

Configuration still works without problems:
python3 waf configure --build-static --with-python --with-tensorflow

Running following command leads to error installation errors and the message mentioned on top here:
python3 waf

Trying to fix source code just always leads to new errors.

OK so after having spent some time with this, there's some parameters to consider when trying to install on OSX (M1), to go alongside MTG/essentia#1147:

• Essentia (currently) needs ffmpeg 2.8 to compile properly so make sure the python version you use (I used Python 3.9 and this worked) is seeing this version, if you have multiple ones in brew, link [email protected]
• follow the steps in https://essentia.upf.edu/installing.html#installing-dependencies-on-macos
• once this is done, get Essentia source from github (https://github.com/MTG/essentia)
• rename 'VERSION' to VERSION_waf in source folder (C++ 20 version poisoning)
• in 'wscript' replace 'VERSION' with 'VERSION_waf' in the open file statement (currently line 23)
• follow the steps in https://essentia.upf.edu/installing.html#compiling-essentia
• MAKE SURE you use the same python version when running all the above and preferably 3.9
