Subset and download l3 and l4 subsetted datasets about podaacpy HOT 10 CLOSED

Absolutely anything that is available within PO.DAAC at Level 3 or 4. Both.

@lewismc please take a look at [0], what do the (Grid value = *) tag with different values specify?? and I have the same question with the (Map name = * ) sub-tag. Thanks.

One more thing to add I have just realised that the function list_available_granule_search_datasetShortNames() returns all the level3 and level4 datasetNames, but not level2 datasetNames. Using this datasetShortNames and the extract granule web service [1] we can import subsetted datasets into OCW, this should work right?? The only thing I can't figure out is whether the web service returns a gridded dataset.

If the data contains XML metadata child elements which are then you would be wise to assume that the data is gridded ;)

Yes if possible. Please add that support anf ensure the formatting is PEP8
