I tested and now see the minimap in the file diff window. I think it's a nice choice to have the minimap appear on the left-most/right-most sides, rather than always on the same side of each of the diff views.

Maybe this could be an option for the user?

It would be helpful if the minimap also appeared in the source control diff views, as well.
