This is something I already do when a release is ready. I try not to break the master branch here, but I do sometimes make changes (like the one in #21) that aren't fully tested or maybe might get combined with some other fixes/features into a single release.

If you want a pre-release version, you can use either npm install git+ssh://[email protected]:natevw/pi-spi.git or npm install natevw/pi-spi and both should do the same thing, i.e. install the module based on whatever is on the master branch here. Note that npm install natevw/pi-spi is different than npm install pi-spi — the former is the latest commit from github, the latter is the latest release in the npm repository.

I usually bump the version once it's ready, right before I publish to npm. Perhaps I should do it earlier but hopefully this explains why I don't bump it for every commit?

Finally getting back to some open source projects, appreciate the feedback here. I did bump the package version from the last changes now and will try keep on top of it the next changes!
