@AkiaSIG This is a strange error. The error message appears to be saying that your input layer is invalid. Is it possible to share a vector layer that causes this problem? Is this being used in a model or just from one of your layers?

Hello, good to hear your answer ...
The vector layer is joined with a table. Could it be the reason ?
I'll try with another layer with no join ...
Thanks

I see a potential problem if the input source is a table and not a vector layer. I don't know if that is what was input, but I am going to include some checking to make sure that the input is a point, line, or polygon layer and if it is not then warn the user.

Hello,
The table is joined on a point file. So I did not request to build a kml on the table but on the point file.
I didn't take the time to try with another layer but I'll try as soon as possible.
Thanks again for your answers.
Take care, Philippe

It would be very helpful if you could provide some data and the steps that you took to generate the error.

Ok, I'll send it to you. That would be on this week end. Sorry ...
Thanks again for your support. We will find out why.
Take care, Philippe

I updated KML Tools to 3.1.4. Although I cannot replicate your error, it has a check in it to make sure the input vector layer is in the correct format. See if you still have the same problem or not with this version.
Thanks!

@AkiaSIG That error really shouldn't happen so this is really strange. The NoneType says that there is not a valid layer input, but I am surprised that my checks at the beginning didn't catch it.

Go to the KML Tools plugin page https://plugins.qgis.org/plugins/kmltools/ and click on the Details tab and that will give you an email address to send your data to. It didn't come through onto the GitHub site.

One thing you can try with QGIS is to right mouse click on your layer that is causing problems. Select "Properties..." In the Layer Properties popup select the "Information" tab on the left. Copy the text about "Information from provider" and send it to me.

Thanks! I will eventually figure this out.

Please update to KML Tools 3.1.6 and let me know if this has been fixed or not. You wont get this error again, but you might get some message.

When you send you data file by email it is getting automatically removed so I never receive it. Please put it on a network drive and just send the link or email it to [email protected] as long as it is not larger than 10 Mb. I definitely want to try and figure out what is going wrong with this. It is a very strange error and I have not been able to replicate it by guessing at what might be going wrong.
