This is a kinda hard problem because it depends how you bind your form. I find that for APIs it usually makes more sense to bind like: $form->bind($request->request->all()). That way you circumvent the default form behavior that is to look in user[]. It's more convenient for users of the API, and it makes the docs work.

The only way we can fix it otherwise is to read the form's name and add that to the docs, but then it'd need to be made optional too.

Ok, that makes sense. I didn't know that you could use $request->request->all() - That definitely is a better approach than forcing formname[parameter].
