I added Mongoid support for netzke-persistence (see my master branch). Similar refactorings could be done for core and basecamp I guess. But I don't really see the value of netzke anymore to be honest. I'd much rather code my app in pure Sencha MVC using coffeescript and then hook the client app up to any REST services of my choosing.

I'm working on it. Basically just create a pure REST API fx using the Rails API gem (fx see railscast) then develop a Sencha app with stores that use this API just like any other external REST api.
