RHive doesn't seem to support HiveServer2 about rhive HOT 8 CLOSED

@euriion unfortunately, HiveServer1 is not an option, since it does not support concurrent connections.

What "problem" are you referring to? Is there a Hive ticket you can reference? I was not under the impression that there are any blockers for this from the Hive side, rather that RHive needs to use the new Java API, instead of the old one.

There is no Hive ticket for the problem.
I meant, one of our member is a Hive committer and He have given advices to us since we made RHive.
We just have an internal ticket which is not solved yet.
We have had concerning to come up more good way to cover up both of old type and new type in RHive side.
Many users are still using RHive old version on too much complicated environments. we should also consider them and many cases are related to Hive connector.
Anyway, we will fix but still don't have a certain plan.
Let me request a plan to members.

Any update on rhive supporting HiveServer2? Considering that HS1 is single-threaded and insecure we would like to retire it, but supporting rhive is a blocker.

RHive 2.0 supports HiveServer2.

rhive.connect(host="127.0.0.1",port=10000, hiveServer2=NA, defaultFS=NULL, updateJar=FALSE, user=NULL, password=NULL)
hiveServer2 TRUE if you are using HiveServer2 and FALSE otherwise.
