What's the typical wait time for a release when a version has been merged? There's a fix in 29.0.3 for a bug in 29.0.2 I'm anxious for but completely understand that y'all have a process!
It's very dependent on developers availability, but this should be out soon.
By the way, you can already use the new version if you switch to the latest/beta
channel and then you can also test if everything looks alright.

Hey there @stondino00 and @pachulo, apologies if this is in a wiki/faq (I did take a moment to look, https://github.com/nextcloud-snap/nextcloud-snap/wiki/FAQ's#q-why-is-nextcloud-snap-version-out-of-sync-with-upstream-nextcloud is very close and explains why updates take time)

I was finally able to test this on my new server.
I've observed the same error that @scubamuc spotted, and it seems that it affects the Circles app and will be fixed on the next nextcloud minor release (29.0.4).
@nextcloud-snap/developers should we ship this or wait till the next revision (which should be out in a week or so)?

did you workaround as I mentioned? I'd like to give this another shot, so I'm waiting for build to complete. Stand by for test results.
I believe "Circles" is being renamed to "Teams". Don't know if that is relevant but surely part of major upgrade?
@nextcloud-snap/developers should we ship this or wait till the next revision (which should be out in a week or so)?
Given the issues with 29.02 and lessons learned, we could wait a week... maybe @hardingt can test upgrade?

- the richdocuments errors are CODE errors which are also appearing in 29.02, since app update to 8.4.3 but have no effect on functionality. Looks like this is upstream: nextcloud/richdocuments#3780.
- the SyntaxErrorException is the worrying part:

as mentioned here #2799 (comment)
- truncated logs
- restart nextcloud
- check logs
issues do not reappear!

@pachulo, since none of these issues are reappearing after restart and SyntaxErrorException doesn't break anything, I'd agree to go ahead with Release 29.0.3snap1 #2817 🤿 👌

I would be more confident if somebody could test this by upgrading a production instance which really makes use of the Circles/Teams app functionality, because in the upstream issue they talk about files showing an empty list and I would like to avoid exposing our users to that bug.
On the other hand, we would be holding some security updates because of this.
Not an easy one...

@pachulo, on second thought this list of fixes for 29.0.4 will catch several issues appearing since 29.0.2 https://help.nextcloud.com/t/rc1s-of-28-0-8-and-29-0-4/197921. For instance Fix: Do not log an error when connecting to SFTP without a logged in user (server#46061) which will be bliss for someone who's allergic to log-errors, like me. I'm afraid I disabled Circles on my corporate instance since the features required were covered with LDAP groups, So I have no testing environment for that either.

latest/beta shows: 29.0.2snap1+git11.5c1ddf1
Is that a typo or v29.0.3?

That's v29.0.3. it's the 29.0.2snap1 + additional changed. It becomes 29.0.3snap1 when the stable release had been tagged.

Thank you for the clarification!
