The user guide does not currently cover how to create extensions in Connect. The best way to get started would be to look at the source code of plugins that are already included in the core project. You can find them here.
To provide a very high level rundown, you will need to:
- Create a
plugin.xmlfile to define your plugin (example). - Depending on the type of plugin you are creating, you will need to create a Java class that implements one of the Plugin interfaces defined in the com.mirth.connect.plugins package.
- Package your JAR files with the
plugin.xmlfile into a zip file to be installed via the Extensions panel
from connect.
