Oh, that's no good. I think it might be related to the Content-Type being in a meta tag rather than a header - I think node is switching it from iso-8859-1 to UTF-8 because it doesn't see the header and doesn't know to check the body.
I'm pretty booked right now, but I'll try and find time to straighten this out some time soon. Or, if you think you'd like, patches are welcome :)

Hi again. I just deployed tfMen's patch to nodeunblocker.com and your test page now works correctly. It added an extra dependency on Iconv (which is not pure js) so it takes a little longer to install and may not work on windows. I may pick my work back up to try and get a pure js solution in place but this should work for now.
