I thought there would be an entry in the Logbook... I think it would be useful!

It doesn't show up when you sort by entity that it was a schedule, instead shows it was turned on/off by the owner.

But for the moment, since the Friendly Name is not managed if you end up with an entry like this schedule_58bff3 it won't do much good...

As far as i know, the logbook is completely managed by HA itself.
I cannot influence how scheduler events are registered there i think

A little note to myself.

Example: Create a custom entry in your logbook

service: logbook.log
service_data:
 name: Kitchen
 message: is being used
 entity_id: light.kitchen
 domain: light

So it looks like scheduler events can be logged after all.

It'll show up even if you filter by entity? 👏 How hard would that be to implement? Just add a hass.services.call?

I find this one useful too. I currently use the Scheduler Card to control some climate entities, set up with timeslots. I see now that during the night one slot was not fired because the target temperature in the history was not set to the defined value.
I then quickly searched the logbook with the climate entity set. but there are no entries to show the activity.

I did some more investigation, but it looks like HA only allows defining a user who triggered the action.
As far as I can see it's not possible for me to define that things are triggered by Scheduler.
This is defined in the Context object.

I think just something like Desk Lamp was turned off by a schedule would work, if you used the message part.

I opened an issue in the HA architecture repo for adding support for this: home-assistant/architecture#473
It will probably take a while before this will be in place (unless someone can tell me this is already possible in HA).
