I have a related comment/question.
According to the sample code, you state that local:true
goes in the collection.
It looks like this isn't true - the only time that variable works is when it's put in the model.
What is the expected behaviour here? Should the collection be the definition point for this (I believe so, at least), or should the model?

I would like dualStorage to persist both simple Models and Collections. I think it would indeed be better to only define it in one place for models that have a collection.

I was actually only thinking the exact same thing last night.
I've moved away from DualStorage, because I can't work out what combination of true/false in the model/collection will set up something like that (as, I presume, it hasn't been written yet), and am instead using a custom hack of backbone-localstorage.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this progresses :)

The pull request #10 allows to use both model.remote and options.remote.
